Kopenhaver wins Service to CMA Award

Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver, dean and professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Florida International University in Miami, is recipient of the Ronald E. Spielberger Service to College Media Advisers (CMA) Award.

Kopenhaver has spent most of her professional career supporting College Media Advisers in vital and varied ways, not the least of which is her role as convention director of the Spring National College Media Convention in New York from 1984-2001.

She served as CMA president, 1975-79; vice president, 1970-75; and vice president for public affairs, 1980-83. She was inducted into the CMA Hall of Fame in 1994.

CMA President Ken Rosenauer said that Kopenhaver has been his most important CMA mentor.

"Lillian has been instrumental in my growth as an adviser and an active member of CMA for more than 25 years. Just as important has been her enduring friendship and support," he said.
