Margo Berman teaches creative, hands-on advertising and entrepreneurship courses. She has been the recipient of several teaching and research awards, and was named a 2005 Kauffman Faculty Scholar.
During her 20-year advertising career, she owned her own agency and earned numerous regional, national and international awards. Her Web site, www.UnlockTheBlock, won a national Clarion Award in 2003. She has received the Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award for FIU's nationally recognized student chapter of The Association for Women in Communications (AWC). The student Web site, www.fiu.edu/~awc, won a national Clarion Award in 2005. She was honored as the AWC Woman of the Year in Communication Education in 2001.
Known for her creativity, Berman invented tactikPAK®, a patented system of learning, created Mental Peanut Butter® Training, and developed three CDs, two DVDs, and two 6-CD webinar sets, both based on her principles from new book Street-Smart Advertising: How to Win the Battle of the Buzz. She has written articles for trade publications, including the Encyclopedia of Advertising. Her second book, which examines the creative relationship between copywriters and art directors, is scheduled for a 2008 release.
