DEPARTMENT OF ADVERTISING & PUBLIC RELATIONs
Shooting
television commercials, planning parties
for movie stars, being the spokesperson
for a top government or business leader,
or promoting a brand new industry (like
computers, 12 years ago)...all of these
are possible within the world of advertising
and public relations. Although everyone
knows what an ad is, few know the many careers
that surround it (jingle writing, media
buying, research, graphics, etc.) And even
though the term public relations conjures
up images warm and fuzzy, it is the public
relations professional who helps an organization
to communicate in order to achieve its mission
and goals. The department has three student
clubs: AdFed/International Advertising,
AWC, and PRSSA. |
