Entrance Exam Registration Policy

Important MMC 3104C
ENTRANCE EXAM ATTENDANCE AND REGISTRATION POLICy
Fall 2007

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION VERY CAREFULLY

In order to more efficiently meet the needs of students, SJMC is instituting the following policy regarding signing up for the MMC 3104 Entrance Exams and Writing Sample:

  1.    Students have two chances to pass the language skills exam and writing sample in a semester.

  2.    If they fail to pass the exam or sample twice in a semester, they must sign up for Remediation/Boot Camp the following semester. Once they’ve successfully completed Remediation, they have two last opportunities to pass the exam and the writing sample. If they fail these last two opportunities, they are no longer able to take the exam.

  3. Students must take the writing sample scheduled for their exam time. Failure to do so means forfeiting their sample, and they will be given a failing grade.

  4.    ***Students must be very careful when registering for exam times. There are no cancellations, and no-shows mean forfeiting one of their chances.***

  5.    That means, if you sign up for the wrong day, or are unable to make your scheduled exam/writing sample time for ANY reason other than documented medical emergencies or deaths in the family, you forfeit that opportunity. There are no exceptions!

  6.    Not showing up for an exam/sample for which you are registered means you forfeit that opportunity.

  7.    So, if you’ve taken the exam once and then miss your second scheduled exam time, you must go to Remediation/Boot Camp before you may register to take the exam again.
