Within the last few years, faculty members have held local and national leadership positions with major professional organizations, such as the National Academy for Television Arts & Sciences, which awards the Emmy, and the Association for Independent Commercial Producers (AICP). They have been published on topics such as the impact of digital communications for Spanish-language television, the effects of violence on television, and the state of the post-production industry. Their directing work and design effects are widely seen on regional and global television networks. Recent FIU graduates hold positions at Univision, Telemundo, ESPN, NBC 6, CBS 4, WSVN-TV, WPLG, and several local television stations and media companies across the U.S. The on-campus facilities include a TV studio with HD projection, as well as both Avid and Final Cut Pro editing solutions.
